Sara “Sarita” Castañeda

Ayurvedic Practitioner | Herbalist | Full Spectrum Doula | Reiki Master | Community Healer

My journey as a healer began in 2007, after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a moment that changed the course of my life and invited me to listen more deeply to the intelligence within my own body. What began as a search for recovery became a path of remembering. Through Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and craniosacral therapy, I came to understand that the human body is not simply a vessel to be fixed, but a brilliant, multidimensional system. One that always seeks balance, truth, and homeostasis.

For more than fifteen years, I’ve immersed myself in the study and practice of Ayurveda and Vedic philosophy, learning to live and serve through their timeless principles. My work weaves together Ayurvedic medicine, herbalism, full-spectrum doula support, reiki, and energy healing. I’ve had the privilege of holding space for people through all phases of life’s transitions:birth, loss, abortion, and death. Moments where the sacredness of existence reveals itself most clearly. My practice is also informed by Mayan and Andean healing traditions and Chinese medicine, each reminding me that all wisdom systems ultimately point toward harmony with ourselves and the natural world.

I believe healing is less about doing and more about remembering. We are born with everything we need to restore balance; our work is simply to attune to it. With curiosity, consistency, and care. Through mindful living, breathwork, and self-inquiry, we begin to reawaken our innate capacity to heal and return to wholeness.

Having grown up in a family touched by addiction, I’ve witnessed how pain can become a profound teacher. My own recovery journey has shown me that healing and transformation are always possible, that what feels broken can become an opening. This understanding shapes the way I hold space for others: with compassion, reverence, and the belief that every soul has the capacity to remember their own light.

At the heart of my work is community. Creating spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, one another, and the natural rhythms that sustain us. I’m honored to walk alongside others as they rediscover their power to heal, lead, and live fully.
